How we find free cancellation hotels
We list 55,364 US properties with at least one offer explicitly marked free cancellation in hotel detail data obtained through ScrapingDog’s Google Hotels API. The collection spans 8,381 address-based destinations across all 50 states and Washington, DC. Search coverage is extensive, but it is not an exhaustive census of every hotel in the United States.
The dates behind the prices
All recorded offers are for October 20–22, 2026: two nights, two adults, no children, with prices requested in USD. The data was collected on September 10, 2026. Prices, room availability and policies are snapshots, not live quotes. The card price is the lowest available nightly amount among explicitly marked cancellation offers in that hotel record. Taxes and fees are shown using the source’s own fields in the offer details.
Free cancellation is an offer, not a permanent hotel policy
A hotel may have both refundable and non-refundable rates. The flag in our data applies to the specific offer as returned by the API. Always confirm the exact room, stay dates, cancellation deadline and time zone, prepayment conditions and no-show terms before booking.
What we show
Hotel details include the available descriptions, original photo URLs, provider offers, room options, nightly and total prices, hotel class, guest ratings, amenity groups, excluded amenities, nearby places, contact information, health and safety information, and sustainability information. How we handle imperfect data
Some cancellation deadlines conflict with the recorded collection or stay dates. We keep the reported values and flag the inconsistency. Some review-topic positive, neutral and negative counts do not reconcile with their totals; those values are preserved without presenting them as reliable sentiment percentages. Star-rating histograms are plotted only when their counts reconcile with the reported review total.
Unnamed amenity codes are retained in the complete record. Missing amenities are not treated as confirmed exclusions. Amenities such as a property hot tub do not establish room-specific facilities. Nearby-place descriptions with unexpected field types remain visible in the source record.
How to compare hotels with free cancellation
Destination pages list all qualifying hotels assigned to that city or town from the property address. Properties whose addresses cannot be parsed into a destination appear under “Other locations” within their state. Broad pages show a selection of the most-reviewed properties, with destination links to the full collection. Filters on those pages apply to the displayed selection.
An independent directory
Free Cancellation Hotels is not a hotel, booking agency, Google or ScrapingDog. Reservations are completed with the linked provider. Images, descriptions, prices and ratings come from the collected source. No review text, guest experience or cancellation guarantee is invented.
